We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at VCU Health. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by preparing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Decontaminate and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols
- Maintain inventory and par levels of instruments and supplies
- Assemble and prepare instrument sets and case carts
- Follow OSHA and TJC guidelines for infection control and safety
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous work experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or healthcare-related position preferred
This position requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, and walking. The ability to lift 20-50 pounds is also required. The work environment is noisy, and the ability to adapt to frequent change is essential.
