Position Summary:
This role involves engineering, project development, project management, environmental oversight, and construction coordination, primarily supporting Project Engineering and Power Generation functions. The position will also contribute to the engineering and construction of significant projects, such as the Mill Creek Unit 5 - Natural Gas Combined Cycle Project. Professional judgment is essential in executing assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
  • Utilize engineering, project development, and management skills across various projects, including:
    • Oversight of power generation engineering and construction, including natural gas and renewable energy projects.
    • Management of air and water quality control systems.
    • Preparation of statements of work for engineering and construction projects.
    • Development of technical and commercial specifications.
    • Engagement in all phases of engineering, including 3-D model evaluations.
    • Participation in bid evaluations and justifications.
    • Act as a liaison among generating stations, consultants, contractors, and management regarding design and procurement.
    • Assess vendor products for compatibility with company requirements.
    • Review specifications, design drawings, and vendor bids, providing recommendations to management.
    • Participate in factory acceptance tests and inspections of fabrication processes.
    • Conduct cost estimating reviews.
    • Maintain organized records for audits and project references.
    • Support budget management and oversee design and construction activities.
    • Monitor contractor performance concerning safety, quality, and project scope.
    • Provide engineering consultation across various departments in project development.
    • Advocate for safety management throughout project execution.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an ABET Accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to apply formal engineering training to practical power generation tasks.
