Electrical Systems Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at Qualus Services. As an Electrical Systems Engineer, you will work with various departments to perform power system studies, including short circuit and equipment evaluation, overcurrent coordination and protection, arc flash, load flow, motor starting, power quality, and harmonic analysis.
Responsibilities
- Perform short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower software.
- Apply knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost-effective mitigation solutions.
- Develop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customers.
- Perform data collection activities.
- Develop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designs.
- Interpret new construction drawing packages.
- Develop relay protective setpoints and settings files.
- Develop and/or update equipment control schematics, one lines, three lines, and wiring diagrams.
- Effectively communicate with other departments and customers to assure activities are properly coordinated.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related from an ABET accredited school.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and have high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively discuss technical recommendations with customers.
- Strong computer skills.
