Our client, a leading manufacturer in the electric vehicle sector, is seeking an Automotive Technician to support their operations. This position requires candidates to be local.

***This role is structured as a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM PST.***

The Technician will collaborate daily with various internal teams to address service requirements and liaise with the Service, Vehicle Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineering departments. Experience in automotive repair, process optimization, and escalation management is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Electric Delivery Van service, including vehicle transportation between locations as needed.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles, adhering to established processes and guidelines.
  • Record and communicate the outcomes (pass/fail) of inspections to team members and supervisors.
  • Execute repair procedures efficiently while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  • Conduct or assist with diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Support vehicle repairs in environments outside of traditional service centers.
  • Carry out road tests on vehicles to verify the quality of repairs performed.
  • Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Stay current with technical skills and required training.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting as necessary.
  • Deliver high-quality work and maintain efficiency while working independently.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred; a diploma from an accredited automotive repair institution is a plus.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in an automotive repair environment is required.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
  • Experience with work order management systems and repair documentation is preferred.
  • Fluency in reading and speaking English is necessary.
  • Availability for a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as needed.
