Our client, a leading American manufacturer of electric vehicles, is seeking an Automotive Technician to support their operations in a dynamic environment. This position requires onsite presence, and local candidates are preferred.

***This role is structured as a 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM PST.***

The Technician will engage daily with internal teams to address service requirements and collaborate with the Service, Vehicle and Delivery Operations, and Field Service Engineer departments. Experience in automotive service, process optimization, and escalation management is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations of the Electric Delivery Van business, including vehicle transportation between delivery points as needed.
  • Perform pre-delivery inspections on new vehicles, adhering to established processes, checklists, and guidelines.
  • Document inspection outcomes (pass/fail) and communicate findings to team members and supervisors.
  • Execute repair procedures efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Conduct or assist with diagnostics, repairs, installations, and inspections on vehicles.
  • Support vehicle repairs in non-service center environments.
  • Carry out road tests on vehicles to verify the quality of repairs performed.
  • Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Stay current with technical skills and required training programs.
  • Maintain accurate expense reporting as necessary.
  • Deliver high-quality work and maintain efficiency while working independently.

Required Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred; a diploma from an accredited automotive repair institution is highly regarded.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in an automotive repair setting is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Experience with work order management systems, including documentation of repairs, is preferred.
  • Fluency in reading and speaking English is necessary.
  • Availability for a standard schedule of 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays as required by business needs.
