Position Summary

The role of the Program Facilitator for Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Education is pivotal in nurturing a campus environment that actively prevents and addresses issues of interpersonal violence, such as sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking, and harassment. This position engages collaboratively with various campus entities, student groups, and community organizations to execute comprehensive prevention strategies and deliver essential support services to the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the G.I.V.E. Initiative:
    • Manage and direct the Gaels Interpersonal Violence Education Program.
    • Design and implement educational workshops, events, and campaigns aimed at preventing domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
  • Plan and Implement Educational Initiatives:
    • Coordinate awareness campaigns and events throughout the academic year.
    • Organize workshops, training sessions, and prevention initiatives each semester.
  • Guide Peer Educators and Advisory Teams:
    • Provide mentorship and leadership to student leaders involved in peer education.
    • Supervise training and development opportunities for peer educators.
  • Collaborate with Community Response Teams:
    • Engage with campus and local community members to synchronize prevention efforts and response strategies.
  • Offer Survivor Support Services:
    • Collaborate with the Title IX Coordinator to provide survivor-centered, trauma-informed care, advocacy, and referrals.
  • Conduct Workshops and Training Sessions:
    • Partner with campus departments to deliver workshops and training for students, faculty, and staff.
    • Facilitate bystander intervention training and peer education workshops.
  • Create Orientation and Educational Materials:
    • Assist in developing orientation resources to inform new students about available support, violence prevention strategies, and peer education opportunities.
  • Develop Educational Resources:
    • Create print, digital, and social media materials focused on sexual violence prevention, healthy relationships, and bystander intervention.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology, education).
  • Preferred experience in violence prevention, education, or advocacy.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and survivor support services.
  • Awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
