Talent Acquisition Specialist

Salary Range: $57,700 - $72,100

At Midland States Bank, the base salary is one aspect of our Total Rewards program. The precise compensation is influenced by factors such as education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This role offers additional financial incentives, including short-term bonuses and potential long-term rewards such as stock options. Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is tasked with executing effective recruitment strategies to attract and select high-quality candidates for Midland States Bank. Key responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, ad placement, conducting pre-screening background checks, evaluating candidates, and extending job offers.

This role requires utilizing various sourcing methods, including cold-calling, networking, online postings, social media engagement, interviews, and assessments, ensuring all candidates have a positive experience throughout the recruitment process. The Specialist acts as a consultant to both hiring managers and candidates regarding the selection and hiring process, maintaining a robust talent pipeline for key positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, source, and screen candidates, resumes, and job applications.
  • Conduct interviews utilizing reliable recruitment tools and methods to assess candidates professionally and efficiently.
  • Stay informed about business line performance expectations and apply this knowledge to implement sourcing strategies.
  • Promote the sourcing and hiring of diverse talent by integrating diversity and inclusion principles into the recruitment process.
  • Source and attract diverse candidates through various networks and social media platforms to engage both passive and active job seekers.
  • Serve as a primary contact and foster strong relationships with candidates to enhance the recruitment pipeline and successful placements.
  • Identify recruitment trends and needs through ongoing internal and external analysis.
  • Research candidates and job roles thoroughly.
  • Network through industry contacts, associations, trade groups, social media, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with universities and professional organizations to establish inclusive and diverse partnerships.
  • Provide constructive feedback to candidates to aid in their professional development.
  • Ensure internal equity is considered when finalizing compensation recommendations.
  • Assist hiring managers in utilizing assessment tools and behavioral interviewing techniques.
  • Regularly meet with hiring managers to facilitate intake meetings, calibration discussions, and maintain open communication regarding recruitment strategies and candidate pipelines.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for hiring managers and business leaders on talent acquisition topics, trends, and processes.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Hiring Managers and HR throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, matrixed environment where relationship-building is essential for success.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • This role may require occasional travel for training and team meetings.
  • Compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), is mandatory.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the recruitment field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • At least 2 years' experience in proactively sourcing and cold-calling both active and passive candidates.
  • Familiarity with various sourcing methodologies and social recruiting strategies, as well as networking with professional organizations.
  • Understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action regulations related to hiring practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, counseling, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with external recruiters is advantageous.
