Salary Range: $57,700 - $72,100

At Midland States Bank, the base salary is just one part of our comprehensive Total Rewards program. Position Overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist is tasked with executing effective recruitment strategies to attract and select high-quality candidates for Midland States Bank. The key responsibilities of the Recruiter include, but are not limited to, sourcing, interviewing, ad placement, conducting preliminary background checks, evaluating candidates, and extending job offers.

This individual will employ a variety of sourcing techniques, including cold-calling, networking, online postings, social media engagement, interviews, and assessments, ensuring that all candidates experience an exceptional process. They will act as a consultant to both hiring managers and candidates regarding the selection and hiring processes, maintaining a talent pipeline for specific roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, source, and screen candidates, resumes, and job applications.
  • Conduct interviews utilizing various reliable recruitment and selection tools to filter candidates professionally and efficiently.
  • Stay informed about business line performance expectations and effectively apply this knowledge to execute sourcing strategies.
  • Promote the sourcing and hiring of top-tier talent by integrating diversity and inclusion into the recruitment process.
  • Source and recruit diverse candidates through multiple networks and social media to engage both passive and active job seekers.
  • Serve as a primary contact and cultivate strong candidate relationships to enhance the recruitment pipeline and successful placements.
  • Identify recruitment trends and needs through ongoing internal and external monitoring.
  • Research candidates and job positions thoroughly.
  • Network through industry contacts, associations, trade groups, social media, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Proactively collaborate with universities and professional organizations to foster inclusive and diverse relationships.
  • Provide constructive feedback to candidates to aid in their professional development.
  • Ensure internal equity is considered when finalizing recommended compensation.
  • Assist hiring managers in utilizing assessment tools and behavioral interview techniques.
  • Regularly meet with hiring managers to lead intake discussions, calibration meetings, and ensure effective communication regarding recruitment strategies and candidate pipelines.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for hiring managers and business leaders on talent acquisition topics, trends, and processes.
  • Maintain consistent communication with Hiring Managers and HR throughout the recruitment lifecycle.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training and team meetings.
  • May necessitate working in an office environment to support collaboration and customer service.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in the recruitment field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • At least 2 years of experience in proactively sourcing and cold-calling both active and passive candidates.
  • Experience with various sourcing methodologies and social recruiting strategies, as well as building purposeful networking relationships.
  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action regulations related to hiring practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, counseling, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with external recruiters is preferred.
