Clinical Education Specialist

The Clinical Education Specialist at Grady Health System is responsible for ensuring compliance to established policies, procedures, and regulations required to maintain a department's program(s) of services. This role manages education/training programs and services, develops related goals and objectives, recommends policies, and evaluates program outcomes. The specialist utilizes a high degree of initiative to plan, develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate educational and clinical experiences. The three spheres of influence include patient/family, staff nurses, and health organizations/systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provides clinical leadership and serves as a role model and facilitator of learning and resource for the translation of skills and knowledge into clinical practice.
Direct patient/family care, consultation, change agent, teaching/coaching/mentoring, research, patient advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.
Qualifications
A minimum of four years of clinical nursing experience is required. Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Certified AHA ECC Instructor - BLS (required within 6 months of hire) ACLS and /or PALS (desired).
