Job Summary

Holden Farms, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist - Animal Welfare to join our team. As a key member of our animal welfare and quality assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, while also promoting pork safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Welfare and Quality Assurance: Develop and implement animal welfare training programs, guidelines, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of animal care and welfare.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with farm supervisors, farm managers, and other management team members to promote Holden Farms' core values and goals, and to ensure effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Training and Development: Lead all PQA/TQA training and other animal husbandry and welfare-related training programs, and provide biosecurity support and training to all divisions.
  • Audit and Compliance: Lead all animal welfare-related audits (CSIA, PQA, etc.) and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Support and Collaboration: Provide additional support to the research, production, and veterinary teams, including assistance with farm biosecurity, sample collection from pigs, and Secure Pork Supply implementation.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Animal science degree with an emphasis in animal welfare preferred, and TQA Certification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to effectively collaborate and lead the animal welfare program, and ability to work in all Microsoft Products to create spreadsheets, schedules, and documents.
