As a Senior Process Engineer at Volvo Car Germany GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our manufacturing processes within the Final Assembly Shop. Your expertise will be essential in driving both current and future operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Shop Engineering team, guiding Process Analysts in their efforts.
- Enhance the efficiency of existing processes and facilitate the industrialization of new ones in collaboration with Production and Launch teams.
- Strategically plan for upcoming vehicle project deliverables and optimize workforce requirements.
- Ensure adherence to Process Engineering targets (QDFIPS) regarding time, technique, and cost.
- Continuously refine and enhance assembly processes within the Final Assembly environment.
- Implement lean methodologies to minimize waste and promote efficiency.
- Lead Kaizen events, engaging cross-functional teams to foster improvement.
- Participate in in-depth process problem analysis and contribute to the resolution process when specialized knowledge is required.
- Prioritize safety, ergonomics, and quality in all aspects of work.
- Conduct return on investment assessments for proposed enhancements.
- Execute time studies, capacity analyses, and layout/product flow evaluations.
- Engage in Launch Team Activities and Budget Projects.
- Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on Kaizen and lean thinking to achieve organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain standard labor hours, cycle times, and takt times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Process or Industrial Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manual, repetitive, and short cycle time assembly processes.
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office, TeamCenter, and simulation software.
- Experience in project management is essential.
- Strong communication skills in a global, cross-functional setting.
- Expertise in balancing, productivity analysis, capacity analysis, and ergonomics.
- Comprehensive knowledge in Product and Process Engineering.
- Proven experience in leadership roles.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
