Principal Scientist, Biology

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist, Biology to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our oncology research team, you will be responsible for leading the biology strategy for our pipeline projects, from target selection to candidate nomination. Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the biology strategy for pipeline projects, including target selection and candidate nomination.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute project strategies, ensuring deliverables are met under tight timelines.
- Supervise and guide junior team members, providing technical leadership and expertise in biology and oncology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and validate in vitro assays, develop oncology models, and execute in vivo experiments.
- Author and review study reports, regulatory documentation, and scientific presentations, as well as manage external research collaborations.
- Assess scientific and research needs for projects and engage with external partners, KOLs, and set up external partnerships as needed.
- PhD in cancer biology, cell biology, pharmacology, or a related field, with a deep understanding of cancer biology and experience working in oncology drug development.
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech R&D environments, demonstrating successful accomplishments and progressive leadership and broadening responsibilities.
- Experience in working on targeted cancer therapy modalities, such as RPTs, ADCs, PDCs, is highly desirable.
