POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Executive Housekeeper at the Holiday Inn San Jose Silicon Valley, you will oversee and direct all housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff, fostering open communication and addressing performance issues as necessary.
  • Provide clear guidance in assigning tasks and instructing housekeeping and laundry personnel.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor staff activities to ensure adherence to quality assurance standards, which involves regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas.
  • Manage the financial aspects of housekeeping and laundry services, including budgeting and inventory control, while analyzing data to compile financial reports.
  • Delegate workloads effectively to maximize productivity and ensure guest satisfaction while minimizing costs.
  • Monitor house counts and adjust staffing levels accordingly.
  • Ensure proper handling of cleaning chemicals and supplies, providing thorough training and maintaining compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conduct staff meetings and participate in relevant meetings to share important information.
  • Assess the condition of furniture and fixtures, making recommendations for maintenance and improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with staff both verbally and in writing to provide clear instructions.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for work.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

  • Proficient in English communication.

  • Understanding of sanitation standards and safe chemical handling.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping policies, particularly regarding safety and security.

  • Supervisory skills to oversee the housekeeping department.
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments for seamless service delivery.
  • Physical capability to inspect rooms throughout the hotel.
  • Competence in using a moderately complex computer system for data entry.
