Key Responsibilities- Provide behavioral health clinical services to patients in various settings
- Assess and formulate diagnoses for patients
- Develop and implement treatment plans in conjunction with the treatment team
- Provide evidence-based solution-focused therapeutic interventions
- Lead therapeutic groups, such as cognitive behavioral, psychoeducational, DBT, and supportive therapy sessions
- Assess clients in emergency situations and initiate transfers to higher levels of care when necessary
- Collaborate with multiple departments and community resources to achieve interdisciplinary treatment goals
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling
- Licensed to practice independently and formulate diagnoses in the State of New Mexico as a LCSW or LPCC
- Completion of prevention and management of aggressive behavior course within 2 months
- BLS within 6 months
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Advanced behavioral health assessment and referral skills
- Ability to deal with all types of patients with behavioral health conditions
- Understanding of crisis intervention theory, case management, and referral process
- Knowledge of psychopathology and ICD-10 diagnoses
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and community resources
- Flexibility with job assignments
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in a behavioral health or related setting
Christus Health is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system based in Texas. Our Behavioral Health Therapist II will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous activities around patient care. The work area has normal heat, light, and air. The Behavioral Health Therapist II may be exposed to infectious diseases and intermittent exposure to blood, excrements, odors, and noise.
Physical RequirementsThe Behavioral Health Therapist II must be able to handle emergency/crisis situations, prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking. They must have the ability to work in crisis and potentially hazardous situations. The Behavioral Health Therapist II must be able to lift, position, push, and/or transfer patients or equipment. They must have knowledge of and use good body mechanics.
