Overview
The Municipal Engineer is responsible for executing engineering tasks related to municipal initiatives at Great Lakes Water Authority, overseeing the design, implementation, and management of consultant and contract services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction administration duties for municipal engineering initiatives
  • Develop plans, drawings, and specifications for various projects
  • Assess proposals for consultant agreements and construction tenders
  • Participate in construction meetings and provide assistance with field and design challenges
  • Review consultant outputs, oversee testing, and deliver training
  • Support the acquisition of approvals for consultants and construction agreements
  • Process invoices from consultants and prepare hiring requests
  • Execute related tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering
  • Experience in engineering and construction management is preferred
  • E.I.T. certification is preferred
Physical Demands
This role requires physical capability, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, and stand for extended periods, as well as manual dexterity for operating equipment. Employees must successfully complete vision and fitness assessments.

Environmental Considerations
The position may involve exposure to various elements, hazardous materials, confined spaces, and slippery surfaces.

Additional Requirements
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work irregular hours and travel to facilities
