Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operations of the accounting practice, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery for both not-for-profit and for-profit clients.
  • Expansion Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to successfully transition and expand the practice from not-for-profit accounting to include for-profit services, identifying target markets and service offerings.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Ensure proper training and resources are provided for team members.
  • Process Improvement: Streamline accounting processes and workflows to enhance productivity and service quality. Implement best practices to optimize client service delivery.
  • Offshoring Initiative: Spearhead the offshoring strategy, evaluating potential partners, managing relationships, and ensuring successful integration of offshore resources into the practice.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Financial Oversight: Monitor financial performance of the practice, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations for both not-for-profit and for-profit entities. Manage risk by implementing effective internal controls.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 8+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an accounting firm or financial services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of not-for-profit accounting standards, as well as for-profit accounting practices.
  • Experience with offshoring initiatives or managing remote teams is highly desirable.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and lead a diverse team.
  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements and achieving growth objectives.
