Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Healthcare Systems Manager at Albany Medical Center. This is a critical position that requires strong leadership and technical expertise to oversee the development and implementation of clinical information systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Assist the director in IT strategic and tactical planning, including setting priorities, coordinating and reporting program status and issue resolution.
  • Training and Development: Coordinate training across the supported product lines, including the development of staff training and development programs.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work cooperatively with all user groups and affected IT units to coordinate plans and activities, including development projects that involve systems, software upgrades, and new product installations.
  • Reporting and Forecasting: Provide weekly and monthly reports on activity status as well as forecasts of resource utilization.
  • Policy Development: Recognize and identify areas where existing policies, procedures, and activities require change or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future applications or technical initiatives. Proactively define and recommend required policies and procedures.
  • System Development and Maintenance: Facilitate the development and maintenance of application or technology-based systems, which are designed to support hospital real-time operations and/or provide information in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Staff Management: Assign, coordinate, and review the work of staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a Math, Science, Healthcare, or other related field, Master's preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience, with an emphasis on clinical or Healthcare application development, process analysis, reporting, technology planning, and implementation. Experience working in healthcare.
  • Management Experience: 2+ years of staff management experience.
  • Project Management: Requires strong project management experience.
  • Enterprise Solutions: Experience implementing enterprise-wide clinical or Healthcare solutions for a health system or payer to improve patient care and operational efficiencies.
