Role Overview
In this pivotal role, you will oversee, guide, and mentor our mechanical maintenance workforce to enhance process efficiency and asset dependability through the strategic implementation of predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies. Your leadership will foster a culture of safety and adaptability while motivating team members to pursue ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safe work practices and spearhead safety programs.
- Enhance employee engagement and skill development to achieve high competency and flexibility.
- Supervise a team of Millwrights.
- Collaborate with Operations and Maintenance personnel to carry out urgent, preventive, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate with Operations Maintenance Coordinators on both weekly and daily maintenance agendas.
- Engage with crafts team members, engineering staff, suppliers, and external contractors to successfully execute expense and capital projects.
- Offer and manage technical support for mechanical maintenance requirements.
- Facilitate the procurement of parts and services in conjunction with Planners.
- Manage administrative duties including performance evaluations, time-off approvals, purchase requisitions, annual objectives, and mechanical preventive maintenance schedules.
- Administer contracts related to crafts unions.
- Provide weekend support on a rotational basis.
- Must be capable of navigating the facility efficiently (including extensive walking, climbing ladders and stairs, etc.) and withstand varying temperature conditions.
- A minimum of 5 years in industrial maintenance or a comparable mix of education, training, and experience.
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with maintenance and processes in paper production.
- Demonstrated commitment to team member safety.
- Proficient in computer applications (SAP & Microsoft Office).
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and project management capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple time-sensitive projects and issues.
- Effective interpersonal skills to engage with all organizational levels and excel in a collaborative environment.
