Payroll Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to support our payroll shared services team in Fargo, ND. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of administrative and accounting duties, including monitoring and managing the payroll inbox, responding to payroll inquiries, and reviewing and updating information for new hires and service line transfers.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and Manage Payroll Inbox: The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and managing the payroll inbox, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll-related tasks.
- Respond to Payroll Inquiries: The successful candidate will respond to payroll inquiries by phone and email in a professional and timely manner.
- Manage Incoming Mail: The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for managing incoming mail, including reviewing and updating information for new hires and service line transfers.
- Review and Update Information: The Payroll Coordinator will review and update information for new hires, rehires, and service line transfers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Communicate Effectively: The successful candidate will communicate effectively and professionally with employees, team members, sites, and other departments.
- Review and Process Late Time Sheets: The Payroll Coordinator will review and process late time sheets and back pays from previous weeks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Assist with Report Review: The Payroll Coordinator will assist with report review to confirm accuracy of system integrations.
- Maintain SOX Controls: The successful candidate will maintain basic knowledge of SOX controls.
- Assist HR Department: The Payroll Coordinator will assist the HR Department with any questions or issues related to payroll items.
- Provide Feedback and Recommendations: The successful candidate will provide feedback and recommend solutions for a more efficient and streamlined process.
- Protect Company Assets: The Payroll Coordinator will maintain a level of professional inquiry and apply critical thinking skills when receiving employee banking information to identify, communicate, and reject fraudulent requests to protect company assets.
- Assist Other Team Members: The successful candidate will assist other team members as needed.
Requirements:
- Education: An associate degree or equivalent in Accounting or a Business-related area is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate will have great customer service skills, proficient computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. They will also be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Attention to Detail: The Payroll Coordinator will have a strong attention to detail and focus on data entry accuracy.
- Mathematical Skills: The successful candidate will be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The Payroll Coordinator will be able to deal with problems involving several variables.
