Job Summary

Patient Access Specialists play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient access to healthcare services at Premier Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, navigating complex financial and insurance processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial counseling and education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their financial obligations and available assistance options.
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and/or provide financial assistance education to patients, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Register patients, schedule appointments, and complete registration by collecting and entering pertinent financial and demographic information into our ADT system.
  • Verify insurance benefit information, generate ABNs, review orders for compliance, and complete MSP requirements.
  • Obtain financial and treatment consents, place ordered medical procedures, and obtain pre-certifications when applicable, all while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer focus, patience, composure, and compassion in all interactions with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with patients, physicians, and colleagues, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date on hospital financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to ensure accurate and efficient patient financial management.
Requirements
  • High School completion or equivalent required; Associate's degree in healthcare or a related business field preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of job-related experience, preferably in customer service, general clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company settings.
  • Proficiency in Windows-based computer technology, including keyboarding and typing at least 25 wpm.
  • Medical Terminology certification preferred.
