We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team at MicroVention-Terumo. As a Senior EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs and systems to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement EHS Programs: Create and maintain effective EHS systems, programs, and processes to ensure compliance with local, federal, and state regulations.
- Partner with Business Functions: Collaborate with various business functions to ensure associates follow safety and environmental practices and support EHS regulations.
- Recommend EHS Goals and Objectives: Provide recommendations for EHS goals and objectives and support the organization in their implementation.
- Establish and Report EHS Metrics: Develop and report EHS metrics to management to ensure effective EHS performance.
- Act as Primary EHS Contact: Serve as the primary EHS contact for EHS emergencies and maintain emergency action plans.
- Conduct EHS Reviews: Conduct EHS reviews for new chemicals, new product development, facility or manufacturing modifications, new equipment/machinery, and product transfer to/from other facilities.
- Facilitate Incident Investigation: Assist in incident investigation and root cause analysis, working with Human Resources and Workers Compensation to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Manage EHS Job Functions: Oversee EHS job functions, including job safety analyses/risk assessments, EHS program reviews, and employee training.
- Conduct Compliance Inspections: Conduct periodic compliance inspections and internal audits to ensure EHS compliance.
- Obtain and Maintain Reports: Obtain and maintain required environmental reports, permits, licenses, and documentation.
- Chair the Safety Committee: Chair and lead the Safety Committee to ensure effective EHS performance.
- Evaluate Proposed Regulations: Evaluate proposed regulations to determine their impact on site operations.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, or a related field of study, or a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with relevant experience.
- A minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, including a minimum of three (3) years of manufacturing and/or plant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
