Nursing Department Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Department Coordinator to join our team at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care and safe, efficient operation of our clinical departments.
Key Responsibilities- Direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures, professional standards of nursing, and applicable Federal and State laws.
- Collaborate with department supervisors to ensure safe staffing levels and conduct daily safety huddles.
- Participate in multidisciplinary huddles and attend safety first huddles daily.
- Coordinate patient placement and admission, including swing intakes, ER admissions, surgery admissions, and direct admits from the community.
- Work with Case Management and primary nurse to coordinate efficient and complete patient discharge.
- Ensure Patient Experience tactics are in place, including bedside report, intentional hourly rounding, and leader rounding.
- Monitor and improve quality measures, including CAUTI, CLABSI, falls, readmission, and AMA/LWOBS.
- Participate in infection prevention, fall prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention initiatives.
- Serve as a knowledgeable and experienced resource for staff and work collaboratively with medical providers and hospitalists to ensure safe and quality patient care.
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of North Dakota (ND).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to operate computer programs such as Google Suite, Meditech, Med Assets, and Milliman.
CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program.
