Nursing Department Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Department Coordinator to join our team at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care and safe, efficient operation of our clinical departments.
Key Responsibilities- Direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of the nursing department, professional standards of nursing, and applicable Federal and State laws.
- Collaborate with department supervisors to ensure safe staffing levels and participate in daily safety huddles.
- Coordinate patient placement and admission, including swing intakes, ER admissions, and surgery admissions.
- Work with Case Management and primary nurse to coordinate efficient and complete patient discharge.
- Assure standards of patient care are met through quality measures, including infection prevention, fall prevention, and pressure ulcer prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including CAUTI, CLABSI, and readmission reduction initiatives.
- Provide direct patient care as needed and serve as a resource for LPN, RN, and OB staff.
- Assist with receiving outpatient orders, completing medication reconciliation, and initiating care plans for admissions.
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in State of North Dakota (ND).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications.
- Computer skills preferred.
CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program.
