Department Overview

The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is committed to conducting impactful biomedical research and translating discoveries into clinical applications while training future medical professionals and researchers. Our research initiatives tackle essential questions in various fields, including cell biology, endocrinology, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and oncology. Collaborations with clinical departments facilitate studies on a range of diseases, including neurological disorders, psychiatric conditions, degenerative diseases, and cancer.

Position Summary

This role is designed for individuals eager to engage in advanced scientific and administrative tasks supporting research initiatives within a laboratory or clinical research environment. Responsibilities include participating in research data collection and documentation, developing and assessing new research methodologies, and publishing findings in scientific journals. The position entails executing a variety of complex procedures across chemical, biological, and statistical domains.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to project planning and the development of research protocols while ensuring compliance with established scientific principles and federal regulations.
  • Conducting diverse experimental studies, including electrophysiology and molecular biology, which may involve animal surgeries and various laboratory techniques.
  • Analyzing experimental results using advanced imaging techniques and developing software solutions for data analysis as needed.
  • Maintaining detailed records of experimental outcomes.
  • Overseeing breeding colonies and performing treatments for specific research models.
  • Managing the daily operations of the research laboratory, including supply orders and budget tracking.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of students and research personnel involved in laboratory work.
  • Providing guidance to principal investigators and research staff on technical aspects of research methodologies.
  • Operating and instructing others on the use of complex scientific equipment.


Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least one year of applicable experience; or a Master's degree with five years of progressive experience in grant management and quality assurance; or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (may require work outside of standard hours)

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications
