Department Overview

The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is dedicated to conducting impactful biomedical research and translating findings into clinical applications. Our research spans critical areas such as cell biology, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and cancer biology, with collaborations aimed at addressing various diseases.

Position Summary

This role involves engaging in advanced scientific and administrative work to support research initiatives within a laboratory or clinical setting. Responsibilities include data collection, documentation, and the development of innovative research techniques. The position requires publishing findings in scientific journals and performing a variety of complex procedures.

Key Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Contributing to project planning and the development of research protocols while ensuring compliance with scientific principles and federal guidelines.
  • Conducting experimental studies in areas such as electrophysiology and molecular biology, including animal surgeries and various analytical techniques.
  • Analyzing experimental results using advanced imaging techniques and developing software solutions for data analysis.
  • Maintaining detailed records of experimental outcomes and managing laboratory operations, including supply orders and budget tracking.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of students and research personnel involved in laboratory work.
  • Providing guidance to principal investigators and other team members on research methodologies and technologies.
  • Operating complex scientific equipment and training others in its use.


Qualifications

Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least one year of applicable experience; or a Master's degree with five years of progressive experience in grant management and quality assurance; or a Bachelor's degree with eight years of relevant experience.

Skills and Abilities

Strong ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and research databases. Must be capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

Work Schedule and Benefits

Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, with potential for additional hours as needed. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Benefits may include health and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid leave, and opportunities for tuition assistance.
