Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial and regulatory reports, including financial statements and management reports.
  • Develop and implement accounting systems that comply with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and prepare for audits and reviews by external auditors and regulators.
  • Issue written and oral instructions regarding accounting procedures to the accounting team and other departments.
  • Assist in departmental projects, such as the annual budget process and branch profitability report.
  • Perform other duties within the accounting department as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA and banking experience preferred, but not required.
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience.
Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as interest accruals, discounts, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advance analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and independently.
Working Conditions

This position requires a thorough knowledge of accounting theory, practice, and regulatory requirements. The position requires the basic skills associated with the general use of computers and other business office equipment. Ability to format spreadsheets and develop formulas in Excel and intermediate level skills in Word are required. Database query experience preferred. Ten-key by touch is required.

The ability to offer flexibility in a changing work environment is imperative. Position requires the ability to work successfully with other team members to maximize productivity. Significant experience, knowledge, and understanding of US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and internal controls are required.
