Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the City of Winston-Salem, NC. As a key member of our Fleet Services department, you will be responsible for performing journeyman-level mechanical work, including diagnostics and major repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance services and tune-ups on fleet vehicles
  • Repair air conditioning systems, complicated brake systems, and other major repair tasks
  • Maintain safe work zones and follow applicable safety policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Two years of experience in the repair of automotive equipment
  • Completion of 10 training courses in automotive repair from a community college, vocational school, or automotive dealer/retailer
  • Four (4) ASE certificates required to be obtained within two (2) years of employment
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License at hire with ability to obtain tanker endorsement within 12 months of employment
