Job Title: Senior Electrical/Electronics Technician

Aerotek is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical/Electronics Technician to join our team in Salem, New Jersey.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in electrical and electronics systems, as well as experience with PLC and control systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the daily functions of production lines and supporting systems, with a focus on electrical and electronics systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot automation-related issues with production line equipment using PLC interface software.
  • Work closely with production and electrical maintenance teams to achieve company goals in efficiency and productivity.
  • Record all work into the online issue tracking software SAP.
  • Complete individual assignments related to optimization and improvement of existing equipment and implementation of new equipment.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Comply with company policies.
  • Possess a high degree of initiative, creativity, communication skills, self-supervision, and respect for safety requirements.
  • Must be a team player and work closely with maintenance, production, engineering, and outside services.
Requirements:
  • Associate's or technical degree in a related field with a minimum of five years' experience, or bachelor's degree in engineering with 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with the operation of production machinery is preferred.
  • Understanding of PLC's and controls is a must.
  • Strong electrical aptitude and ability to interpret industrial control programming languages (i.e. Ladder Logic).
  • Demonstrated ability and knowledge of PLC Control Application Software.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Ability to work on systems operating at 480 volts AC and 600 volts DC and below.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair existing electrical systems and equipment by following electrical drawings and using test instruments.
  • Experience with AC & DC motors & drives.
