Who we are seeking:

State Street Global Advisors is in search of a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a Master's degree and a minimum of 2 years or a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience to join our Application Technology Solutions team. This individual will be instrumental in driving our multi-year Next-Gen Reporting initiative. The ideal candidate will possess industry experience and will be tasked with translating business needs into system specifications, conducting data analysis, and developing solutions for intricate challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft precise and succinct specifications that address complex global asset management challenges by analyzing data streams, defining financial data transformations, and visualizing information for end-users.
  • Establish communication channels with internal stakeholders to gather, define, and finalize essential business requirements.
  • Operate within an Agile framework, ensuring that epic and story deliverables are well-defined and completed punctually, with test plans reviewed and artifacts approved.
  • Design and develop data flows and conceptual data models based on business requirements utilizing ERDs, XML schemas, and object-oriented design methodologies.
  • Examine intricate data relationships using SQL, Excel, MS Access, VBA, Perl, Python, or Java.
  • Collaborate with offshore teams and BSAs to comprehensively scope and articulate business requirements, addressing the demands of a global organization.
  • Partner with user experience and design team members to establish conceptual models for user interfaces.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to deliver fully qualified specifications and test plans.
  • Assist development teams with requirements and specifications to outline technical implementation strategies, specifications, and planning.
  • Ensure compliance with SSGA's information security protocols in all work.

  • Functional understanding of technical system architectures.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise presentations and documentation using MS Office and Visio.
  • Strong grasp of financial industry concepts and practices.
  • Extensive experience with development, database concepts, websites, applications, and information management systems.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Expertise in SQL and data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, database design principles, J2EE development environments, application server, and web server technologies.
  • Ability to work with XML and to conceptualize and develop XML design patterns/schema.
  • Capability to work with object-oriented and business object models and to conceptualize and create OO and BO design patterns.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Master's degree with 2+ years or Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Strong team ethics and a collaborative spirit.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Able to thrive in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $160,000 Annual

The range mentioned above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of the primary location, the applicable range may differ.
