About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to join our team at HarbourVest Partners, LLC. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our firm's enterprise-wise reporting functions and contributing to the design and implementation of data pipelines and platforms within our current and next-generation data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and test sophisticated data ingest processes, transformations, normalizations, reports, and extracts to strengthen internal business analytics and external client reporting functions.
  • Partner with business users, data engineers, and architects to form complete end-to-end solutions.
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models.
  • Contribute to the development of project artifacts and tools, such as task boards, problem lists, user stories, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the broader team and work effectively with subject matter experts from various domains.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in business analysis, business intelligence, data integration, and/or data engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex financial data, ideally in an investment management setting.
  • High energy and team-oriented style; flexibility and motivation to take on a broad range of analytical and software-testing assignments.
  • Track record and skills shown on high-intensity, high-complexity projects.
  • Confidence and credibility interacting with business users at all levels.
  • Expertise in translating business requirements into actionable technology solutions.
  • SQL and data analysis skills, to support design and testing.
  • Experience creating and reviewing epics, user stories, features, etc. in an Agile development environment.
  • Proficiency with identifying data patterns and proposing proactive solutions to address data quality issues.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, understanding data architecture intricacies.
