Parent Educator Specialist

Champions for Children, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Parent Educator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Implement the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model, focusing on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being.
- Develop and maintain relationships with families, providing home-based services and connecting them to community resources.
- Conduct annual family-centered assessments, develop and monitor goals, and complete developmental screenings and health reviews.
- Participate in reflective supervision, staff meetings, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Cultivate and manage collaborative relationships with community partners, including presentations and participation in community events.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field, or current certification in the Parents as Teachers Foundational and Model Implementation Curriculum.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with families and empower them to build on their strengths.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, MS Word, and case management databases, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Certification as a Parents as Teachers parent educator, with training provided if not currently certified.
- Ability to work in a culturally sensitive and diverse environment, with a focus on serving the socioeconomically and culturally diverse population.
