Job Description and Duties

Job Summary

The Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Services Analyst to join our team. As a Staff Services Analyst, you will play a critical role in assisting with the production and analysis of technical and complex reports for the District regarding Personnel Year (PY) and Personnel Service Dollars (PS$) allocation, expenditures, and projections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the production and analysis of technical and complex reports for the District.
  • Review, monitor, and process hiring requests from the District's Resource Managers.
  • Collaborate with the Staff Services Manager III to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to track and analyze data.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions

This position is located in Oakland, Alameda County. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions.

For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions.
