Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Supervisor at Kaiser Permanente, you will oversee a team of respiratory care professionals in providing high-quality patient-focused services. Your expertise will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, while driving efficient patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement pulmonary standards to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate Plans of Treatment and customer-focused delivery of services.
  • Ensure all patient care is in compliance with administrative, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the Site Pulmonary Clinical Services Manager and other healthcare providers to develop and implement efficient patient/pulmonary care services and outcomes.
  • Identify and recommend best practice models to improve quality and service to members.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating standards of practice to improve quality and service to members.
  • Meet short and long-term financial goals by planning, developing, monitoring, adjusting, and evaluating annual budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality of services.
  • Supervise staff to ensure they are fully competent in providing the highest quality of care to members.
  • Assist in determining appropriate staffing to maintain service levels.
  • Develop programs and present in-service programs to pulmonary staff.
  • Supervise daily unit operations, department, and employee safety programs, and risk management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in respiratory care in a multi-faceted healthcare system, multi-service provider setting, or academic setting.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) and Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate from National Board of Respiratory Care required.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, staffing, systems, quality improvement, and clinical care delivery in an inpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in respiratory care, healthcare administration, nursing, or business administration.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
