Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician III to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Pharmacy Technician III, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including IV solutions and sterile products.
  • Conduct audits and research to maintain the integrity of our pharmacy programs.
  • Enter data into computer systems and verify accuracy.
  • Order medications from wholesalers and manage inventory.
  • Coordinate medication-related issues for patients, providers, and clinic staff.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • Complete Hospital Pharm Tech Training or Equivalent.
  • Chemotherapy Drug Prep Training within 60 days.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician in NM within 60 days.
  • 2 years directly related experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

This position also requires working with chemicals, biohazardous materials, and requires PPE.

Language

This position requires fluency in English and Spanish.
