Position Overview
Dow's Consumer Solutions production facility is seeking a Senior Production Engineer. This facility is a leading supplier of silicones for advanced construction, automotive, and electronics sectors.

The Senior Production Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, stable, and reliable operation of the Batch Area. This involves leveraging process knowledge and technical expertise to enhance plant operations, swiftly address plant issues, and facilitate the safe and efficient production of high-quality products. The focus will be on collaborating with various departments, including Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, R&D, EH&S, and the Tech Center, to identify and implement innovative and sustainable solutions that promote continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the success of the assigned unit.
  • Exhibit courageous leadership by coaching, questioning, and intervening when necessary to enhance operational effectiveness and safety.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism and behavior, influencing the plant culture positively.
  • Apply continuous improvement methodologies and financial acumen to enhance profitability and service efficiency.
  • Understand customer requirements and ensure high levels of quality, responsiveness, and reliability.
  • Monitor daily plant profitability and work to maximize margins.
  • Continuously improve the cost structure and EBITDA generation of the plant.
  • Establish metrics and management systems to optimize plant value and EBITDA.
  • Earn the respect and trust of the operations team through exceptional problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  • Utilize historical data and collaborate with experts to enhance operational discipline.
  • Ensure the application of Most Effective Technology (MET) and process automation to optimize performance.
  • Engage in advanced troubleshooting and enhance operational discipline.
  • Document and analyze root causes of asset utilization losses.
  • Maintain a strong field presence to reinforce the importance of procedural compliance.
  • Review logbooks and alarm histories to stay engaged with daily operations.
  • Monitor and maintain Key Process Indicators (KPI) to ensure optimal performance.
  • Respond promptly to plant issues and act as a technical expert during emergencies.
  • Provide leadership in optimizing Raw Material Efficiency, focusing on yield and waste reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with plant operating permits.
  • Contribute to site integration and optimization of the overall system.

Working Conditions
Strong technical and interpersonal skills, along with a proactive approach, are essential for success in this role. Collaboration with diverse teams, particularly with shift and technical operations, is crucial. Flexibility to work during off-hours and weekends may be required during plant disruptions.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; relevant military experience may be considered.
  • At least 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience is required; 3-5 years is preferred.
  • Experience in a chemical production facility is advantageous.
  • Eligibility to work legally in the United States is required.
