Position Overview:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for leading the completion of APQP deliverables to meet program productivity, cost, and quality objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams to fulfill APQP deliverables, ensuring program targets are met within specified timelines, focusing primarily on control plans.
- Assist, advise, troubleshoot, and expedite resolutions and implementations of corrective actions to enhance quality, facilitate cost reduction, simplify processes, and address departmental concerns.
- Adhere to OEM quality processes and submit necessary documentation to secure PPAP or other approvals.
- Create, edit, and maintain essential documentation to uphold various company and external certifications.
- Monitor and enhance the efficiency, output, safety, and quality of manufacturing processes through observations, measurements, and data analysis.
- Support strategic planning, training, and development initiatives for all associates.
- Guide technical and operational personnel in a collaborative environment to improve safety, efficiency, output, and quality.
- Exhibit leadership values in all aspects of responsibilities.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the automotive sector.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in problem-solving tools such as Six Sigma, Fishbone, KT, PDCA, 8D, etc.
- Moderate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of quality systems, including TS/IATF 16949 and AIAG standards.
- Familiarity with OEM Supplier Portals and related processes.
- Understanding of MMOG/BIQS/VDA/Q1 standards.
- Knowledge of D/PFMEA, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and APQP processes.
- Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer communication abilities.
- Robust analytical and project management skills.
- Aptitude for developing and presenting effective solutions to team members, management, and clients.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with others.
