Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Molecular Research Scientist to join our team at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing innovative molecular, cellular, and tissue-based studies that align with the mission goals of the Department of Pediatrics - Research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend institutional meetings and serve on committees as requested, providing feedback and information exchange regarding meeting progress and outcomes.
  • Review, understand, synthesize, interpolate, summarize, and provide editorial commentary on manuscripts, grants, research literature, or professional communications.
  • Devise and maintain innovative research programs with a commitment to the highest quality performance and productivity standards.
  • Conceive research hypotheses and generate written proposals that are fundable through intramural and extramural agencies.
  • Present research findings through publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and communicate research goals, efforts, and findings through excellent written style and oral delivery.
Requirements
  • Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to the faculty role and department mission.
  • At least 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow or Instructor, required or equivalent time as a basic scientist.
