Position Overview

We are a thriving legal practice seeking to recruit a Family Law Attorney licensed in California. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to assisting clients during one of the most difficult periods of their lives, specifically managing our caseload in Mendocino County. A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigating matters such as child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce within California is preferred. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of recent experience as a practicing attorney.

The successful applicant will be detail-oriented and possess excellent interpersonal skills, along with strong writing capabilities. Proficiency in utilizing technology and systematic approaches to handle a consistent caseload is essential. We seek a self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous environment while also being able to collaborate effectively within a team.

Compensation and Benefits

Work Environment

Our firm prides itself on a supportive and drama-free workplace culture, free from partner conflicts and nepotism. Our team members have varying tenures, ranging from over 2 years to 15 years with the firm. Attorneys typically work 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely, with the flexibility to choose additional office time based on personal preference. We maintain a flextime schedule and conduct daily brief meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court proceedings as necessary.
  • Oversee the equitable division of marital assets.
  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients.
  • Analyze legal issues, understand client needs, and formulate strategic action plans.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to efficiently progress cases through divorce, custody, and support processes.
  • Utilize technology tools such as Clio, Slack, Lawmatics, and LawYaw for case management and communication.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress situations.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar, with no disciplinary record.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a California family law attorney, particularly in child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce.
  • Experience in conducting initial consultations is preferred.
