Position Overview

We are a thriving legal practice seeking to recruit a family law attorney licensed in California. This role is crucial for managing our caseload in Mendocino County, assisting clients during some of the most difficult periods of their lives. A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigating matters such as child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce in California is preferred. Candidates must have at least 2 years of recent practice as an attorney.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a strong affinity for client interaction, possessing exceptional writing abilities. Proficiency in utilizing technology and systematic processes to handle a consistent caseload is essential. We value self-starters who thrive in an autonomous environment while also being able to collaborate effectively within a team.

Compensation and Benefits

Work Environment

Attorneys typically work 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely, with flexible scheduling options available. Daily briefings via Teams ensure effective communication and teamwork, allowing us to provide exceptional service to our clients. Our experienced paralegals, each with over 20 years in family law, play a vital role in our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court proceedings as necessary.
  • Facilitate the equitable division of marital assets.
  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients.
  • Analyze client situations to devise strategic legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to navigate divorce, custody, and support processes efficiently.
  • Utilize technology tools such as Clio, Slack, Lawmatics, and LawYaw for case management and communication.

Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress situations.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar, with no disciplinary record.
  • Preferred candidates will have 2 or more years of significant experience in California family law, specifically in litigation related to child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce.
  • Experience in conducting initial consultations is advantageous.
