Position Overview

We are a thriving legal practice seeking to employ a family law attorney licensed in California, dedicated to supporting clients during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload in Mendocino County. A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigating matters such as child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce in California is preferred. Additionally, candidates must have at least 2 years of recent experience as a practicing attorney.

The perfect candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, and demonstrate exceptional writing abilities. They should be adept at utilizing technology and systematic processes to handle a consistent caseload. A self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous environment while also valuing teamwork is essential.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $105,230 to $161,998 annually, along with bonus opportunities. Our benefits package includes a generous vacation policy, floating holidays, health insurance options, dental and vision coverage, chiropractic and acupuncture insurance, a comprehensive annual professional development allowance, and the option to participate in a 401k plan with employer matching contributions. Depending on the firm's performance, additional paid time off may be provided during the holiday season.

Work Environment

With team members averaging between 2 to 15 years of experience, we foster a collaborative environment where attorneys work 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely, with flexible scheduling options. Daily team meetings via Teams ensure effective communication and case management. Our experienced paralegals are integral to our operations, each bringing over 20 years of family law expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in court proceedings as necessary.
  • Oversee the equitable division of marital assets.
  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients.
  • Analyze client situations to develop strategic legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to efficiently progress cases through divorce, custody, and support processes.
  • Utilize case management technology such as Clio, Slack, Lawmatics, and LawYaw.

Qualifications

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, particularly in high-stress situations.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar, with no disciplinary record.
  • Preferred candidates will have 2 or more years of significant experience in California family law, specifically in child custody, child support, spousal support, and divorce.
  • Experience in conducting initial consultations is also preferred.
