Quality Technician Job Description

QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled Quality Technician to join our team at a company in Mundelein, IL.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Technician to ensure customer specifications are met by performing statistical process control, capability studies, and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in calibration, measuring tolerances, and ISO.

Responsibilities
  • Perform statistical process control and capability studies to ensure customer specifications are met
  • Create and maintain data records
  • Conduct hourly checks on pin maintenance, including weighing, measuring, testing, and summarizing inspection data for analysis
  • Receive inspection inserts and complete 2-hour inspections, including weight, color verification, and dimensional checks
  • Document and maintain records of findings
  • Retain and check raw material color chips
Requirements
  • High School Diploma minimum, undergraduate degree preferred
  • At least five years of related experience in calibration, measuring tolerances, and ISO
  • Working knowledge of current measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, and coordinate measuring machines
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control
  • Basic math, computer, and blueprint skills
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Multitask oriented and ability to work with teams or self-governed
