Visiting Professor for Accounting

We are seeking a qualified Visiting Professor to join our team at DeVry University. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with our students.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver educational courses and programs in accordance with DeVry University requirements.
- Facilitate student learning by applying teaching techniques to best achieve course and programmatic objectives.
- Develop course syllabi and lesson plans, and ensure that course materials are organized and up-to-date.
- Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software.
- Model effective oral and written communications that engage students and improve learning.
- Set clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weight distribution of evaluation categories.
- Ensure that content and level of material included on exams correspond to course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
- A Doctoral degree in Accounting preferred or a doctoral degree in a related area with 18 graduate hours in accounting required.
- Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.
- Qualifying credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or by an international institution determined to hold equivalent accreditation.
- Faculty must have requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
- Faculty must also have excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
- Must be able to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.
Visiting Professor pay is based on degree, credit hours taught per 8-week session, and location. Pay may vary in most states from $1500-$2700 per 8-week session. In the states of AZ, CA, IN, and PA, pay is paid at an hourly rate of either $22.00/hour or $23.50/hour.
