Medix Technology is currently in search of an Infrastructure Project Manager to join our esteemed healthcare client in the Chicago area. This organization is recognized as a leading academic medical center, engaged in both basic and clinical research, with a dedicated team of physicians and scientists working on numerous innovative projects aimed at developing and assessing new therapies and medical devices.

This Project Manager will be an integral part of a team dedicated to technology infrastructure and telecommunications initiatives related to new construction and renovation projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Collaborating with architects to interpret design plans and understand data, network, and device connection requirements.
  • Overseeing construction projects, including building renovations and relocations, focusing on the coordination of telecommunication devices, computers, and printers.
  • Engaging with digital relations departments to gather necessary network and device specifications in alignment with current standards.
  • Meticulously preparing network configuration documentation to fulfill routed-edge requirements, including jack IDs and device details derived from as-built and patch panel schedules; familiarity with architectural plans is advantageous.
  • Requesting IP addresses upon receipt of MAC addresses.
  • Coordinating VPN access requests.
  • Conducting surveys of IT closets in collaboration with network specialists.
  • Performing wireless surveys as needed.
  • Managing departmental relocations concerning telecommunication devices and computers.
  • Overseeing projects aimed at the deployment of devices, ensuring effective collaboration with internal clinical information systems.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in healthcare IT infrastructure, particularly in construction projects, renovations, or relocations, with a focus on telecommunication and computing device coordination.
  • Proven track record in leading projects involving construction, expansion, or equipment relocation.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, particularly in translating building requirements into comprehensive spreadsheets for network configuration and conducting onsite audits with contractors to ensure accuracy.
  • Mid-senior level candidates with a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience are preferred.
  • Ability to execute at a program level while maintaining the capability to verify project details on-site.
  • Healthcare experience is highly desirable, and PMP certification is considered a plus.
  • Experience with the coordination of medical devices and imaging modality installation/testing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Service Now is a plus.
