Clinical Scholar Pathway: Hematology/Oncology Faculty Position

Position Overview: The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Vermont (UVM) and the UVM Medical Center is actively seeking a qualified medical oncologist/hematologist to fill a faculty role on the Clinical Scholar Pathway at the Assistant or Associate level. This position is primarily based in Plattsburgh, NY, within the Hematology/Oncology Network division.

Clinical Responsibilities: The successful candidate will engage in a range of clinical duties that include:

  • Providing comprehensive care in general oncology and hematology, addressing both benign and malignant conditions.
  • Participating in inpatient consult services and managing outpatient clinics at affiliated healthcare facilities.
  • Collaborating with the University of Vermont Cancer Center for enhanced patient care and involvement in clinical research trials.
  • Practicing two days per month at the UVM Cancer Center outpatient clinic, focusing on specialized hematology/oncology.

Call Schedule: The faculty member will participate in a rotating call schedule with other physicians, ensuring continuous patient care.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Board Eligible or Certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology within the initial two years of appointment.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching and community service.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Vermont and New York.
