Clinical Scholar Pathway: Assistant/Associate Professor in Hematology/Oncology

Position Overview: The Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Vermont (UVM) and the UVM Medical Center is actively seeking a dedicated medical oncologist/hematologist faculty member at the Assistant or Associate level. This role is part of the Clinical Scholar Pathway and is primarily based in Plattsburgh, NY.

Clinical Responsibilities: The selected candidate will engage in a variety of clinical duties, which include:

  • Providing comprehensive care in general oncology and hematology, addressing both benign and malignant conditions.
  • Participating in inpatient consult services and managing outpatient clinics at affiliated healthcare facilities.
  • Engaging in a collaborative practice environment with opportunities to work alongside the University of Vermont Cancer Center, enhancing patient care and involvement in clinical trials.

Additional Opportunities: The faculty member is expected to practice two days per month at the UVM Cancer Center outpatient clinic, allowing for a focus on academic and subspecialty hematology/oncology.

Qualifications: Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Board Eligible or Certified in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology within the initial two years of appointment.
  • Demonstrated interest in teaching and community service.
  • Eligibility for licensure in the States of Vermont and New York.
