Job Summary:

As a Clinical Social Work Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will provide supervised clinical social work services to adults, children, and families with emotional and/or social problems. You will utilize established psychotherapeutic techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings, consulting and collaborating with members of the patient's family and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial interviews with members to determine the nature and urgency of their needs, providing a professional understanding of their presentation and recommending a course of action.
  • Provide clinical case management services to adults, adolescents, and children, selecting and using appropriate treatment modalities in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Rend immediate guidance and therapeutic services to help individuals and families cope with emotional crises or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Maintain written records of therapy or counseling sessions, preparing reports and letters concerning patients, and obtaining pertinent information with signed written permission.
  • Provide telephone counseling, resource information, and referral services.
  • Participate in departmental/locational project assignments and activities, such as CQI activities and OD duties.
  • Provide psycho-education for members in the context of a prescribed treatment.
Requirements:
  • Master of Social Work degree or a related Behavioral Health field from an accredited College or University setting.
  • Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (California) or Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker (California) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor Registration (California).
  • Must work a schedule that accumulates at least half of the required supervisory hours annually and obtain state licensure within two and one-half (2.5) years.
Additional Information:
  • May work in other AV MOBs within the service area.
  • Position may and will include Saturdays/weekends.
Work Environment:

This role is a full-time position with a standard schedule, working 40 hours per week. The work environment is a dynamic and fast-paced healthcare setting, requiring strong communication and interpersonal skills.
