Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to join our team at Chenega Professional Services, LLC. As a key member of our Family Advocacy Program, you will play a critical role in providing support and resources to victims of domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 24/7 response to victims of domestic abuse, offering confidential and non-clinical emergent and urgent services.
  • Establish and maintain safety plans for victims, working closely with treatment managers and mental health professionals as needed.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and military authorities to ensure victim safety and well-being.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent domestic abuse, including education and outreach programs.
  • Provide information and referrals to victims on available resources, including emergency shelter, housing, childcare, legal services, and clinical resources.
  • Support victims in decision-making and empowerment, helping them to prioritize actions and establish short- and long-term goals.
  • Accompany victims to appointments and court proceedings as requested, providing transportation assistance when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and contact files for each victim, ensuring continuity of care and confidentiality.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of installation DA policies and protocols, including the Installation Supplement to AFI Family Advocacy and Memoranda of Understanding with local victim shelters.
  • Support the Family Advocacy Intervention Specialist in promoting education about and prevention of domestic abuse, including outreach programs, skill-building classes, and marketing tools and strategies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in domestic abuse victim support or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with victims, treatment managers, and military authorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective safety plans and strategies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent contact with victims and military authorities. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
