Job Description:

Overview:
As an IT Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the systems that are vital to our operations.

At General Dynamics Information Technology, you will be at the forefront of technological advancement, contributing significantly to the efficiency of our client's operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver technical support for Windows server environments, engaging in Tier II and Tier III administration, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Execute system administration tasks and responsibilities.
  • Oversee, manage, and sustain both pre-production and production settings, responding promptly to system alerts.
  • Address assigned tasks, incidents, and service requests efficiently.
  • Plan, design, and implement vendor and security-related patches, updates/upgrades, and hotfixes as necessary.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans of servers, addressing findings and implementing mitigations.
  • Monitor server logs for any suspicious activities and take appropriate measures.
  • Ensure that the security posture of the servers remains compliant with established standards.

Qualifications for Success:

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technology field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

Required Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant technical experience, including:
  • Proficiency in Windows System Administration (Microsoft Windows 2012, 2016, and 2022 preferred).
  • Skills in application installation, support, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
  • PowerShell scripting capabilities.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft RemoteApp is a significant advantage.

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000, subject to adjustments based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.

Salary is not guaranteed and may vary.
