Position Overview:

The UNIX Engineering Lead will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers in the management of UNIX and Linux server systems. This role encompasses overseeing systems engineering, implementation, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily operations of UNIX and Linux server infrastructure.
  • Supervise engineering personnel and third-party vendors to collect, evaluate, and present performance metrics and root cause analyses.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of workflow processes.
  • Manage logical and physical architecture related to enterprise servers, extensive SAN storage, backups, systems security, configurations, manageability, automation, and operations.
  • Facilitate process management within the UNIX Operations domain.

Technical Proficiencies:

  • Deep knowledge of Unix/Linux and associated services, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 5, 6, and 7.
  • Experience with High-Availability solutions, including Red Hat Cluster Services and Global File System.
  • Familiarity with Configuration Management tools such as Red Hat Satellite Server, Chef, and Puppet.
  • Support for web servers like Apache, Tomcat, and NGINX.
  • Experience managing servers that support databases, ideally Oracle and Oracle RAC.
  • Skilled in monitoring and troubleshooting with various tools.
  • Experience in managing both physical and virtual servers.

Experience Required:
Minimum of 8 years in a relevant field.
