Primary Objective:
Oversee and manage maintenance operations and small-scale renovation initiatives across all district facilities.
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):
  • High school diploma; five years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain project timelines that outline expectations, deliverables, tasks, key dates, status updates, and resource allocation.
2.

Oversee daily operational aspects of multiple concurrent district projects, including facilitating client/team meetings, communicating project status, managing change control processes, and resolving issues as they arise.

3. Supervise maintenance and grounds personnel.
4. Oversee plumbing and electrical supervisors within the district.
5. Assist in the planning of maintenance and renovation projects initiated by district facilities.
6. Implement effective management strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success. Employ leadership principles to guide technical teams through all project phases.
7. Foster positive relationships with city, community, and district personnel.
8.

Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Facilities to ensure projects are completed on schedule and adhere to specifications set by the district.

9.

Ensure that safety training is provided to staff and that proper safety protocols are followed by all personnel, including contractors and subcontractors.

10. Establish and maintain consistent written and face-to-face communication.
11. Develop and manage technical documentation related to assigned duties and responsibilities.
12. Engage in long-term planning initiatives.
13. Monitor, investigate, and address concerns related to contract costs, payment approvals, changes, revisions, and construction procedures.
14. Direct and prioritize personnel assignments; plan and manage a budget.
15. Adhere to the Educator Code of Conduct and all relevant policies, procedures, laws, and regulations at both state and federal levels.
16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understanding of procedures related to design, construction terminology, and quality control of materials used in building maintenance and construction. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards. Ability to interpret blueprints. Proficiency in utilizing Gantt Charts and critical path analysis. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines, and procedures. Strong communication skills. Proficient in using various equipment, including personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printers. Competence in computer tools such as email, internet, word processing, and spreadsheets. Ability to work effectively in collaborative, team-oriented environments. Capacity to maintain confidentiality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Grounds Supervisors, External General Contractors, and Consultants.


Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands): Regular exposure to potentially adverse weather conditions for extended periods; position may require work outside of standard hours; must be capable of pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying at least 40 lbs.
